Testing the Relationship Between Psychological Hardiness and Resilience as well as Comparing them in Social Sports (Volleyball and Basketball) and Individual Sports (Swimming and Running)
Using a sample of Fars women athletes, the moderating role of sport type (social sports vs. individual sports) on relationship between psychological hardiness and resilience was tested. Two aims of this study were examining the correlation between psychological hardiness and resilience as well as comparing social and individual athletes based on psychological hardiness and resilience. 60 members of Fars women athletes were randomly selected to the sample (swimming=15n, running=15n, volleyball=15n and basketball=15n). Using Pierson correlation analysis and independent samples T-test analysis based on SPSS-21 program, the moderating role of sport type on relationship between psychological hardiness and resilience was estimated. Findings of this research proved the research questions and aims. Significant correlation was found between psychological hardiness and resilience. Also, individual athletes had more resilience than socials. But, there was no significant difference between sport types in terms of psychological hardiness. So, the sport types moderate the relationship between psychological hardiness and resilience
