Representation of the history of early Islam in Egyptian Muslim modernist discourse; (Case study: Abbas Mahmoud al-Aqad)
The history of early Islam, as one of the most momentous periods, applied by Muslim contemporary thinkers to be represented their special aspect of view about Islam. Some of them admit previous counterparts and some criticize their ideas. Abbas Mahmoud al-Aqad, Egyptian scholar and intellectual, is one of the most effective thinkers who had many investigations in this issue. This study states Aqad’s ideas and works related to history of early Islam and to response the following inquiries: why he attended this subject, which issues were considered by him and what was the purpose of his representation of history of early Islam.
