Investigating the Capacity of Social Capital and Its Role in Promoting Urban Resilience to Natural Disasters: A Case Study of Shiraz City
Social capital is one of the most important human criteria related to the degree of resilience in a social system that as social networks consisting of individuals and organizations can be useful in preventing and preparing society against reducing the effects of risk. To be. In this regard, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the role and relationship between social capital and resilience in Shiraz. The research method is descriptive-analytical and applied. Data collection is based on documentary-library method and field studies with the help of a questionnaire. The statistical population of this study is 1460665 people living in Shiraz, the sample size is estimated to be 325 people according to Cochran's formula. The sampling method is simple random which is finally analyzed after collecting and entering the data in SPSS software environment. Findings show that there is a significant correlation between social capital and resilience at the level of significance less than 0.05 with Pearson coefficient value of 0.38 and also between the dimensions of intragroup (family), linker (neighbors), linker (Organizations) and social capital are significantly correlated with the rate of urban resilience at a level of less than 0.05. As the amount of social capital increases, so does the capacity for flexibility and urban resilience, which highlights the need to create a platform for the creation and strengthening of social capital for individuals in society.
