The Effectiveness of Group Therapy Based On Cognitive Therapy of Michael Ferry On Depression, Loneliness and Happiness in Divorced Women
The aim of this study was to evaluate The Effectiveness of Group Therapy Based On Cognitive Therapy of Michael Ferry On Depression, Loneliness and Happiness in Divorced Women.
The present study was a quasiexperimental study with pretest-posttest design with control group. among of all divorced women who had been referred to Sadegh Counselling Center Roodbar county in 2017, 60 women were selected availability and Based on Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Oxford Happiness (OHQ) and Russell's Loneliness (UCLA), they were pre-tested and the number of 24 people who scored the highest scores in the pretest in depression and loneliness scales and scored the lowest scores in the pre-test in happiness scale and randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. Subsequently, the experimental group received a 12-session group therapy (2 hours each session) based on Michael Frey's cognitive therapy (Frey, 2005). Data were analyzed using multivariate covariance analysis.
results showed that depression and loneliness of the experimental group decreased compared to the control group. Also, happiness increased in experimental group compared to the control group.
results of this study showed that group training based on Michael Frey's cognitive therapy is effective on depression, loneliness and happiness at a significant level (P <0.01).
