Humorous Styles in Contemporary Humorous Short Stories Based on Fictional Titles and Characters (Case Study: Short Stories by Iraj Pezhkozad, Abolghasem Payandeh, Khosro Shahani, Fereydoon Tonekaboni)
One technique that has been overlooked in literary research in humor, despite its importance, is the naming technique for storytelling and fictional characters. The title is the gateway to the text and as the bridge between the text and the audience. It is also key in helping the reader read and understand the symbolic meaning of words. So it has to be artistically selected so that it can display the quality of the text with its limitations. On the other hand, the names of fictional characters can play a role in conveying the author's concepts and themes in addition to making them laugh. In this article, we examine the role and importance of name and naming practices in the fictional characters and characters of Iraj Pezzkadar, Abolghasem Payandeh, Khosro Shahani, and Fereydoon Tonekaboni. The results show that the authors have used methods of contradiction, synonymy, game with names, the use of historical and famous names to name their fictional characters.
