The relationship between parenting styles and free expression of emotions with Internet addiction in students
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between parenting styles and free expression of emotions with Internet addiction in students. The study was a correlational study and the statistical population of the study was all high school students in District 4 of Tehran province. The sample of this study included 90 high school students in 11th and 12th grade in Tehran who were selected based on multi-stage cluster sampling method. The instrument used in the research was a questionnaires, parenting style Baumrind (1991), e Expressiveness Emotional King, & Emmons (1990) and Internet addiction yang (1998). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (multiple regression, Pearson correlation coefficient) and analyzed using SPSS20 software. Findings showed that there is a relationship between parenting styles and emotional instrumentation with Internet addiction. Absurd parenting styles and facilitation plus emotional instrumentation components have the ability to predict Internet addiction (p<0.001). The results of the present study can be used in the development of treatment protocols to reduce Internet addiction among students.
