47Evaluation and ranking of resilience indicators of rural settlements (Case study: Izeh city-Dehdez district)

Disaster resilience and mitigation should be part of rural settlement design and sustainable development strategies.The purpose of this study is to evaluate and rank the resilience indicators of rural settlements in Dehdez district of Izeh city.The study method is descriptive-analytical.The statistical population of the study includes all heads of households in rural areas of more than 20 households in Dehdez district of 3003 people.The sample size was selected based on Cochran's formula to 341 randomly available people. The research tool is a questionnaire with 60 questions in four variables of environmental-natural resilience, economic-social resilience and institutional-managerial resilience, physical-spatial resilience.Its formal validity has been confirmed by the relevant professors and its reliability has been confirmed based on Cronbach's alpha at the rate of 0.86.T-test, Pearson and Friedman tests with SPSS22 software were used to analyze the data.The results show that the environmental-natural index, physical-spatial index, institutional-managerial index and socio-economic index are in good condition.Among these, the status of the environmental-natural index is in a better condition due to the higher average and the institutional-managerial index is in a less favorable condition with a lower average.Based on this, it can be said that the environmental-natural index and the surrounding environmental conditions, according to the experience gained by the villagers, have been able to play a key role in the resilience of rural settlements.
