The effectiveness training of life skills (critical thinking) on self-control and attitude to drug abuse in high school students
The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of life skills training (critical thinking) on self-mastery and attitudes toward drug use in high school students. The quasi-experimental research design is a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population was female high school students in District 4 of Tabriz in the academic year 2019-2020, from which 30 people were selected by purposive sampling and randomly divided into two experimental groups (15 people) and control group (15 people) Were replaced. Thus, the subjects in the experimental group were trained in life skills (critical thinking) for 10 sessions and the control group did not receive any training. Wade Addiction Acceptance Scale and Tangier Self-Mastery were used to collect data. Data were analyzed by analysis of covariance. The results showed that life skills training (critical thinking) have an effect on self-mastery and attitudes toward drug use in students. In fact, life skills training increases self-mastery and reduces students' positive attitude towards drug use. Therefore, learning life skills training has an important role in self-mastery and students' attitudes toward substance use.
