Prediction of level of self-control among male and femail teenagers in high school period on the basis of Islamic patience and religious orientation.
It is believed that the virtuous conduct if not all human happiness is indebted to self-control. Self-control has significant relation with some psychological components and constructs including religious ones. Then the goal of this research is to study relationship between self - control and patience on the basis of Islamic resources and so religious orientation among teenagers aged 14-17 in Mahallat city to see whether the two latter can predict the former. To do such experimental study, initially by stage random cluster selection, a sample size of 362 students was selected among 4709 peoples studying in first and second grade of high school. Aiming at data collection, next stage was distribution of Religious Orientation Questionnaire, Islamic Patience Scale For Teenagers, Self - Control Scale based on Islamic Sources. Data were analyzed according to Pearson Product Moment Correlation, as well as Regression, using SPSS software. The results established that the share of patience is 49% and the share of religious orientation is 18% in strengthening self – control, both with a confidence level of 95%. In addition it was obtained that it is possible for us to design educational packages to promote religious orientation and patience in order to strengthen self- control.
