Securing and designing defensible urban spaces and its role in reducing the occurrence of urban crime (Case of Yasuj City)

Today, paying attention to the concept of citizen security and ways to promote it has become one of the key priorities of urban professionals and theorists. Apart from the social and cultural effects of planning and designing urban safe environments on citizenship behavior patterns and improving the quality of residential environments, explaining the attributes and effects on the physical role of the city in reducing or reducing crime is an independent subject. It is important to note in the context of modern urban theories. Therefore, paying attention to the physical role of the city (urban planning and design) in the reduction and prevention of urban crime is essential and its concepts, principles, paradigms and strategies should be mentioned. The purpose of the present article is to analyze and analyze the concepts and principles related to the approach of securing and designing defensible urban spaces and its role in reducing the occurrence of urban crime. The research method of this paper is descriptive-analytical which is used to formulate passive strategies for crime centers and to describe the strengths, opportunities, aspirations and results of the SOAR technique. The results show that the safety and design of urban defensible spaces through environmental design in urban crime mitigation have 29 factors (strengths, opportunities, aspirations and outcomes) and are in line with the SOAR technique in safety and design. 40 defensive urban spaces have been proposed. Ultimately, solutions are offered to create and improve these spaces and reduce the incidence of urban crime.
