This study aims at investigating the effect of group positivity on the depression and attitude of soldiers at the service of one of the military schools of Hamadan. The present study was an interventional study and a semi-experimental research, either pre-test, post-test, and control design. The statistical population of this study was all soldiers started their duty from March 2015 to September 2016 in Hamadan (randomly selected) with a total of 400 people, of which 40 (20 in the control group and 20 in the intervention group) were selected using available sampling method. The results showed that mean scores of depression in the post-test group were 21.96 ± 4.68 in comparison with the pretest group of this group was 44.19 ± 6.65. Among the suicide components, in the experimental group, the suicidal avoidance was the strongest with the weighted average (the mean divided by the number of questions) of 1/58 and the tendency to death was the weakest suicide components with the weighted average of 1/21 among the subjects in the experimental group. In the control group, the suicidal avoidance was the strongest with the weighted average of 1/52 and suicide preparedness with a weighted average of 1/23 was the weakest suicide components among the subjects in the experimental group.
