The Role of Psychological Resilience in Relation to Family Resilience and Attitudes toward Drugs in Young Girls and Boys: An Analysis of the Modified Mediating Effect

psychological characteristic like psychological resilience that protect individuals against addiction, can be influenced by the family where the person grew up.The aim of current research was to investigate the role of psychological resilience in relation between family resilience and attitude toward substance among girls and boys.

the research design is Descriptive correlation (path analysis). The number of 300 ones (150 girls, 150 boys) were selected by Voluntary sampling method From the society of young girls and boys living in Rasht city in 2018, and responded to adults’ attitude to substance questionnaire, family resilience scale and psychological resilience sale. The gathered data were analyzed by Spss and SmartPLS softwares and the path analysis technic based on Partial least squares approach was used.

results showed that, family resilience could negatively predict attitude toward substance and positively predict psychological resilience and family resilience could indirectly predict attitude toward substance with the mediating role of psychological resilience. Also sex does not have a moderating role in the relation between family resilience and attitude toward substance with the Mediation of psychological resilience.

family resilience has been transferred to the family members and this effect is the same for males and females and with increasing family resilience and psychological resilience, positive attitudes toward substances in adults decrease.
