The "Twelver" Hadith and Ibn Taymiyyah's wrong view
The "twelve califs" Hadith is one of narrations that both Shia and Sunni accept it. This Hadith is about the Imam and califs. This Hadith indicates the number and identity of the successors of the Holy prophet (PBH). There are different views about the intended meanings of this Hadith. The Shia scholars maintain that the real calif and successor after the Holy prophet is Imam Ali and his descendants, believing that there must be an imam in all periods. On the other hand, Ibn Taymiyyah disagree with this idea, introducing some other guys for successorship of the Holy prophet. In this essay by a descriptive – analytic method, it is proved that the Ibn Taymiyyah view is wrong and the Shia point of view is right.
