Assessing the role and position of urban planning rules and regulations in the satisfaction of citizens in areas 6, 8 and 14 of Isfahan

Among the various urban management organizations, the municipality is one of the devices that have a constant and close relationship with the public, so the comprehensive and sustainable development of the city will be implemented when citizens are satisfied with the performance of the municipality. Citizens' sense of satisfaction with the urban environment and the services provided by the municipality, especially in the field of urban planning, is an important factor in motivating people to participate in urban development and improve the quality of their housing. Research on promoting citizens' satisfaction with urban life is a worthy and necessary thing. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the role and position of urban planning rules and regulations in the satisfaction of the citizens of Isfahan. The research method was descriptive-analytical based on the applied purpose and nature. The research tool was a questionnaire and the statistical population was citizens over the age of twenty in three regions 6, 8 and 14 that 384 people were selected as the research sample using Cochran's formula. Data were analyzed using PLS software. The results showed that the user criteria have the most impact with the rate (0.613) and the viewing criteria and lighting spaces have the least impact with the rate (0.381) in terms of significance with the satisfaction of the citizens of the study areas. Also, the research fit model indicates the significance of all components of urban planning rules and regulations and their significant impact on the satisfaction of citizens in research areas.
