The Effect of Thrombus Wall System on Thermal Comfort in Temperate and Humid Climates (Case study of a residential building in Gonbad Kavous)
Due to high energy consumption in the building sector in Iran, using strategies such as passive systems in order to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels seems appropriate. Use of passive systems helps to improve thermal comfort and reduce energy consumption for heating and cooling in buildings.
In this study the effect of Thrombus wall system on the indoor air temperature and thermal comfort, in both heating and cooling has been investigated in a residential building in Temperate Climate Zone. To do this design Builder software is used for building simulation.
After selecting a building as a hypothetical example located in Gonbad Kavoos, which climatic design principles used in it, simulation in two models, basic model and model with Thrombus wall, was done, and simulation findings were compared.
The results of this simulation show that the thrombus wall system can be useful in heating in the desired climate, but it has a lesser role in improving the cooling conditions of the building and more study on energy consumption should be done.
