Identifying Factors Influencing the Final Price of E-Books for Children and Adolescents from the Viewpoint of Publishers
The main purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the final price of the E-book in general and the cost of production that has an impact on the final price from the perspective of publishers.
In this study, qualitative methodology was used. Data collection tool was semi-structured interview. The statistical population of the study was all publishers of child and adolescent e-books licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
The findings showed that factors generally effect on final price of the e-book included the print counterparts, the stakeholders, the content, the cost of producing the e-book, the profits and sales, and finally the external environment. Also from the perspective of publishers, effective factors affecting on final production costs of e-books included IT costs, e-book distribution costs, specialist human resource on content and technology, content production costs, corporate fixed costs, and advertising and marketing costs as well.
Originality:
As a matter of fact, It seems that this article has investigated the affected factors on final prices of children and adolescent e-book for the first time. Moreover, in details, the production prices of that e-book which effect on final price assigned based on mentioned publishers’ viewpoint. Besides, the point question in question is that this article is so useful for some publishers which want to enter publishing of e-book and frighten of come backing profit is accounted as a problematic issue.
