Responsibility of the Islamic Government in Guiding Educands from a Jurisprudential Point of View
Islamic Government is the means of applying the Shari'a law on earth. Hence, its establishment is necessary. However, the way by which governments carry their educational and guiding responsibility varies as in some cases, the role of the government is policy making and planning and the administrative responsibility is left to individuals, official or unofficial organizations. This essay attempts to answer questions such as: What are the duties of the Islamic government regarding education and guidance of the educands? What are the jurisprudential arguments and counter-arguments for these duties as well as the jurisprudential opinions in this regard? In This essay, the arguments -including jurisprudential rules and narrations from the infallibles (Ahadith)- have been collected and certain jurisprudential rulings regarding the responsibility of the Islamic government have been deduced from them through a descriptive-analytical method. Since concerning about man's education and guiding him towards perfection and felicity is among the basic goals of the Islamic government, it carries a responsibility in this regard. The Islamic Government's responsibility in the guidance of the educands is recommended per se, but it becomes obligatory due to the power of the government in providing the resources and facilities, recognizing the general expediency of the society, ensuring the sovereignty of Islamic state, preventing the hegemony of infidels over Islamic society and protecting the Islamic entity.
