The relationship between death anxiety and worry: A mediating role of perfectionism
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of perfectionism in the relationship between death anxiety and worry. The present research design was descriptive-correlation of structural equation. The statistical population includes all students of Urmia Azad University in the 2018- 2019 academic year and the stastical sample of this study was 373 university students who were selected by available sampling method. The Pennsylvania Worry Questionnaire (1990), Templer\'s Death Anxiety (1970), and Hills Perfectionism Scale (1993) were used to assess subjects. Pearson correlation, and structural equation modeling methods were used to analyze the data. The results of the analysis showed that death anxiety and perfectionism can directly and positively explain worry. The indirectly effect of death anxiety on worry due to perfectionism was positive and significant. The results of this study provided evidence that death anxiety mediated by perfectionism was able to predict anxiety in students and this finding could be a step towards better understanding the nature of worry.
