Factors affecting the commission of retail crimes and drug distribution among women in Semnan
The increase in the number of women who have turned to retail and distribution of drugs is a serious threat to the health and security of society in recent years. The aim of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the commission of retail crimes and drug distribution among women in Semnan.
This research was conducted in the framework of qualitative approach and data foundation research method (Strauss and Corbin approach). Statistical population: 17 women who were imprisoned in Semnan prison for retail and distribution of drugs at the time of the investigation were selected as members of the statistical sample using the snowball method until they reached theoretical saturation. In the present study, MAXQDA software was used to analyze the data.
Causal factors include: dysfunctional family, poverty, unemployment, unhealthy friends, underlying factors are: institutionalized violence and harassment, income inequality, deprivation of access to educational facilities, addiction of family members, residence and marginalization.
