Providing a Model of Protecting Children's Privacy in Cyberspace

Abstract:
The research conducted by qualitative method through which 18 experts in the field of communication and law, child activists and psychologists were interviewed to provide a model to protect children's privacy in cyberspace. The Samples were selected by purposive non-probability sampling method. The collected data were interpreted after theoretical saturation using content analysis method and finally a conceptual model was constructed. In this study, 6 comprehensive themes and 17 organized themes were identified as the main branches of strategies for protecting children's privacy in cyberspace, which are: Social strategies (social environment), cultural (culturalization), legal (legislation, consent requirements and access requirements), educational status (media literacy, content production, critical thinking, formal education, knowledge management and literacy and thought development), Economic conditions (investment) and managerial attitudes (technical requirements, policy, training, organizational security and institutional support).
