Role of DSM-5 Alternative Model for Personality Disorders (AMPD) Dimensions in Prediction of Cluster C Personality Disorders Symptoms

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of abnormal personality dimensions proposed DSM-5 Alternative Model for Personality Disorders in the prediction of symptoms of cluster C personality disorders. Therefore, 356 students of Shahid Madani University of Azerbaijan and Payame Noor Osco University were selected by multistage cluster random sampling. They completed Adult DSM-5 (PID-5-BF) and Millon Clinical  Multiaxial  Inventory 3 (MCMI-III).  Data were analyzed using simultaneous regression method. Results showed that the dimensions of disinhibition and psychoticism had positive role in the prediction of avoidant personality disorder. Besides, negative affectivity, dsinhibition and psychoticism  dimensions had positive role in the prediction of dependent personality disorder and negative affectivity as well as detachment dimensions, had positive role and disinhibition had negative role in the prediction of obsessive-compulsive personality disorder.
