The Studying of Relationship Between Individual Characteristics and Social Capital with People's Participation in Prevention of Burglary, in Tabriz city

In today's world, the problem of security and prevention of Burglury by using of public participation is important. High social capital in the community, Has a considerable share in supply of Security in the security of citizens. In this study, the relationship between social capital and participation in prevention of Burgulary has been investigated. Theoretical framework based on the theory of social capital. The sample consisted of 386 female-headed household living in eight Municipality regions of Tabriz In the summer of 2011 that were selected by using probability proportional to size sampling method. Research findings showed that the level of participation is low in Tabriz. The relationship between age, gender, educational level, with the participation of the respondents in the prevention of Burglary have not significant relationship. In addition to, relationship between social capital and participation in prevention of burglary of respondents is significant. The findings also indicate that, social capital constructs derived from relationships in the first group (eg family, relatives and neighbors) between citizens is more than Network links and participation in formal groups.
