The Effect of Organizational Learning Culture Component on Knowledge Creation in Public Hospitals in Qom Province
Knowledge is a valuable and strategic resource and knowledge creation is impossible without considering Organizational learning culture. Therefore, this study aimed at investigating the effect of component of learning culture on knowledge creation in public hospitals.
This descriptive-analytical and exploratory study was performed on 570 employees in public hospitals of Qom. Data were collected via a standard researcher-made questionnaire. The validity of the instrument was assessed through content validity, convergent validity. Furthermore, the reliability was assessed by Cronbachchr('39')s alpha and composite reliability. Data were analyzed through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, using SPSS and Lisrel 8.8 software.
The mean and standard deviation of the components of learning culture and knowledge creation were 3.11 ± 1.35 and 3.42 ± 1.11, respectively. Exploratory factor analysis showed that KMO equaled 0.944 and Bartlett sphericity test was significant at the significance level of 0.001. Cronbachchr('39')s alpha of the two components was 0.972 and 0.974, respectively, while the composite reliability was calculated to be 0.824 and 0.847, respectively. Convergence validity was 0.884 and 0.846, respectively. The exploratory factor analysis categorized the variables in two dimensions of learning culture and knowledge creation. Finally, its fit indicators confirmed the above-mentioned dimensions.
The results showed that learning culture has a positive and significant relationship with the knowledge creation. Therefore, supporting senior managers in holding training workshops on learning culture and knowledge creation in the hospital can be useful for staff in creating knowledge.
