Designing a new structure in DC-DC converters with high voltage gain for electric vehicle applications
In fuel cell vehicles, the output voltage of the fuel cell source is usually much lower than the required voltage of the DC bus; and as the output current increases, the output voltage decreases significantly. In order to match the output voltage of the fuel cell source with the DC bus voltage, a new DC-DC boost converter with a wide input voltage range and high voltage gain is introduced that as a required power interface can reduce the voltage stress across electrical appliances and work with acceptable conversion efficiency. A prototype with 300 W power is designed and implemented; as a result the maximum efficiency of the proposed converter is 95% at 300 W. Experimental results are also presented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed converter.
