Digital literacy skills of employees and its relationship with their empowerment (Case study: staff of Allameh Tabatabai University)
The present study is the first study to investigate the relationship between employees' digital literacy skills and their empowerment.
This research has been conducted quantitatively using a survey method. The statistical population of the study was 440 employees with bachelor's degree and above Allameh Tabatabai University (Tehran), which was calculated and determined by Cochran's formula of 206 statistical sample size. In this study, questionnaires were distributed among the respondents using a simple random method. SPSS software and Spearman statistical tests were also used to analyze the data.
The results of data analysis showed that the average of employees' empowerment (Mean = 86.3) was at a high level and in contrast, the average level of their digital literacy skills (Mean = 53.3) was at a moderate level. Also, there was a significant relationship between digital literacy skills and employee empowerment and the correlation coefficient was equal to (r = .278).The results of examining other correlational relations also showed that except for the sense of significance component, there was a significant relationship between other components of employee empowerment and digital literacy skills. Feeling of competence (r = .187) had the least correlation with employees' digital literacy skills.
