A Comparative Study of the Concept of Space in Sadegh Hedayat Fiction Affected by Heidegger's Existentialism ideas

Space is a fluid concept that has always been associated with place. The discussion of the nonplaces and the disorientation of individuals in its space has been the main study of the postmodern era. Existentialism is one of the most famous philosophical schools and one of the most important intellectual movements of the twentieth century, which appeared in many concepts such as apprehension, despair, pessimism and emptiness after the world wars; It has had profound effects on the structure of space perception in various sciences such as architecture, sociology, psychology, mathematics as well as literature. Heidegger reveals the subject of space as an existence for the first time, in order to represent the meaning that has been disappeared after the modern era, He proposed a new definition of man's relationship with space in the form of new concepts such as "Dasein", "memory" and "body". Therefore, the aspect of effort in this article is the descriptive analytical development of the specific attitude of Sadegh Hedayat; As the father of existential short stories in Iran, his phenomenological point of view in creating atmosphere and character, compared with theories related to the concepts of space and place of existential philosophers. This study, by exploring one of the most significant works of Sadegh Hedayat; The Blind Owl, and a review of the turning points of his life as an Iranian modernist writer, is intended to answer the following questions: Do the criteria and processes of specialization and characterization in his works inspired from the approaches of the philosophy of existentialism or not? What are the components of Heidegger's Dasein, space and lifeworld in the metaphorical space of fiction?
