Investigating and comparison of decision-making styles in employees of government organizations (Case study: Health Department of Abadan University of Medical Sciences)
Decision making as a process of problem solving, identification and selection of appropriate solutions, is always one of the most important tasks of management and people working in the organization. Therefore, it is important to identify the types of decision-making styles and to review and compare them. The present study is a descriptive cross-sectional study. The statistical population in this study was 950 employees working in the field of health of Abadan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services in three cities of Abadan, Khorramshahr and Shadegan. Using Cochran's formula, the sample size was 273 people. The data collection tool is Scott and Bruce (1995) Decision Styles Questionnaire. The validity and reliability of this questionnaire have been calculated and the results are desirable. Finally, the data were analyzed using SPSS-25 and Excel software and Pearson correlation. The results showed that the employees under study make their decisions based on rational style. There is a direct correlation between intuitive decision- making style and other decision-making styles. While there is no correlation between rational style and dependency, instantaneous and avoidance styles.
