How Iranian Islamic architectural ornaments are influenced by the concepts of simile and purification in the third and fourth centuries
Beliefs are a key factor in building architecture. Comparison and purification is one of the most complex theological teachings that has long preoccupied Islamic thinkers. Architectural decorations, on the one hand, summon the viewer's mind to the formal and visual beauty of the roles and paintings, and on the other hand, open the viewer's view to the realm of cultural and religious secrets and mysteries hidden in the concepts of roles. In various historical periods, Iranian Islamic architecture has approached or distanced itself from simile and purification. In the metaphorical work of art, one can get the synonym of this world, the subject and the artistic form, and purification is used for works that deal with the miniature forms of beings more than the forms of this world and the material beings. Also, architects can create a space free from eternal time and space by using abstract elements and creating various geometric textures and Islamic motifs with the help of color and creating innovation and diversity in the overall structure while enjoying material beauties. The results of this study prove that Iranian Muslim architects, while taking into account the considerations of the religion of Islam regarding the aversion to the embodiment of living beings, have taken measures to convey the meanings of simile and purification through decorations.
