Investigating the role of political parties and groupsHamedanin the 17th parliamentary elections
The movement for nationalization of oil industry spread far beyond the capital , Tehran. The people of Hamedan repeatedly sent telegrams to Ayatollah Kashani and Dr Mossadegh expressing their support for the movement and the government. This article reports these activities and their outcom.

Local Khans and their allies pursued different goals from those the the Tudeh Party branch in Hamadan. The clerics of Hamadan, including Ayatollah Bani Sadr and the supporters of the National Front turned to be in sharp disagreement with each other. Even the owners of the newspapers didn’t raise one voice. Incapability of the electoral supervisory commity of the city led to the opint that elections were not held in Hamedan. As the result, the city was unable to have any representative in the Parliament.
