Abstract:
Chronic pain is a common and debilitating condition that little effort has been made to understand, diagnose and treat. The aim of this study was to present a model of the relationship between anxiety, stress and depression with pain perception with the mediating role of resilience in patients with chronic pain. The correlation research method was path analysis. The population of this study consisted of all patients with chronic pain in Al-Ghadir Hospital in Tabriz in 2020. From this population, 300 people were available by sampling method and selected as a research sample. In this study, Leibond and Leibond (1995) Anxiety, Depression and Stress Questionnaire, Connor & Davidson (2003) Resilience Scale and McGill Pain Questionnaire Malzak (1997) were used. The collected data were analyzed using structural equation test. Findings showed that there is an inverse relationship between anxiety, depression and stress with resilience and a positive relationship with pain perception. There is an inverse relationship between resilience and pain perception. Anxiety, depression, and stress also play a predictive role in resilience-mediated pain perception. We conclude that the variables of anxiety, depression and stress both directly affect pain perception and can reduce pain perception in patients with chronic pain by strengthening the mediating role of resilience.
