Investigating the relationship between the value of foreign trade imports and tourism demand in Iran

The expansion of trade between the countries of origin of tourism and the country of destination often leads to the continuation of travel to the destination country. Therefore, theoretically and empirically, the volume of foreign trade and tourism are related to each other. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the value of foreign trade imports and tourism demand in Iran. This research is applied in terms of purpose. The main method in this research is econometric model and panel var method was used for analysis. The study period to evaluate the relationship between foreign trade and tourism demand in Iran, during the years 2016-2011 (2016-2016) and the selected countries are China, UAE, the Republic of Korea and Turkey. Regarding the impact of foreign trade, this study found that the value of imports between Iran and its trading partners has a positive and significant effect on increasing the number of tourists.
