Investigating Parenting Styles and Family Relationship Patterns with Addiction to Virtual Networks: The Mediating Role of Social Competence in Dezful City Students

The purpose of this study was to investigate parenting styles and family communication patterns with addiction to virtual networks: the mediating role of students' social competence. The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population of the study included all female high school students in Dezful in the academic year of 2019-2020, which included 360 students in a multi-stage random sampling method. Research instruments included Family Communication Patterns Questionnaire Fitzpatrick and Koerner, Parental Authority Questionnaire Bury, Social Competence Flanner et al.,, and Virtual Network Addiction Kaplan. Path analysis was used to analyze the data.
