Study of the role the Islamic identity in the formation of housing and residential neighborhoods
The history of Islamic architecture and urban planning shows that housing and residential areas, in addition to their physical structure, have had high concepts and meanings. In the Islamic city, while responding to material needs, a bed of spiritual peace and attention to the spiritual needs of human beings such as security, worship and collective life are also provided and individual behaviors are defined and explained within social behaviors. But as a result of the consequences of modern life and changes in the structure of human behavior, injuries and destructive factors have affected and degraded the concepts of current life in housing and neighborhoods. The present article, while reviewing the valuable concepts of living in an Islamic home and neighborhood, examines and analyzes the effects and consequences of neglecting Islamic identity in contemporary urban planning and provides a basis for strengthening the lofty concepts of housing. The research method is a combination of interpretive-historical and causal methods that have been described and described. The result is that various factors have degraded the quality of housing in urban planning in recent years, including the diminished originality and sense of belonging to the house and neighborhood, disregard for the concept of privacy in housing and weakening security in neighborhoods and lack of peace.
