Investigating the effect of power in drawing geographical maps
Power is the factor of life and survival. The national power of a country is the sum of its capabilities in imposing its will on other countries to achieve its interests. Different models have been presented by different experts and scientists about the factors and variables affecting national power. Power and politics in the field of local, national and regional management with various tools can implement their will and represent their needs in a desirable and beneficial way. One of the tools with which power and politics have always been able to implement the goals in the field of lands, is geographical maps. This article examines this important issue with a descriptive-analytical method to determine how power has been influential in mapping geographical maps. The results show that politicians and rulers of countries throughout history have always used maps in line with their goals to influence and expand their power and that of their country.
