The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between primary maladaptive schemas and happiness with marital satisfaction in married women of Isfahan city in a correlational design.
The population of this research included married women living in Isfahan city. 270 married women living in Isfahan city were selected by voluntary sampling method and they answered Young's schema, Oxford happiness and marital satisfaction questionnaires. Research data were analyzed using statistical methods of Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise regression and SPSS-23 statistical software.
It showed that the predictor variables of schemas of emotional deprivation, insufficient self-control, and damage to loss and illness are negative predictors and the variable of happiness is a significant positive predictor of marital satisfaction, and happiness has the highest ability to predict marital satisfaction.
It can be concluded that happiness, schemas of emotional deprivation, insufficient self-control, and damage to loss and illness, respectively, play a role in predicting marital satisfaction of married women.
