A Sociological Investigation of Effect of Social Networks on Political Culture of Male Students of Farhangian Universities in West of Iran
This study is conducted to investigate the effect of social networks on political culture of Students based on Mark Tessler's theory.
The research method was survey and quantitative, and a questionnaire was the data collection tool, and stratified random sampling method was used. The study population was the male students of Farhangian universities in the west of the country with a population of 3404 people, of which 345 people were selected as the sample size.
The results of the article showed that 36.81 students of Farhangian universities tended to democratic political culture, 58.55 to indifferent, 3.18 to limited and 1.44 to pragmatic. Therefore, the hypothesis of significance of the effect of social networks on political culture is accepted, and the hypothesis of the effect of the type of social networks on the components of political culture, except for the component of gender equality and political knowledge, and the hypothesis of the effect of the type of using the social networks on the components of political culture, except for the component of political participation, political tolerance, political trust, political interest are also accepted.
In general, social networks are a key factor in students' tendency to a particular type of political culture.
