Abstract:

In everyday life, we play the role of numbers in our rituals, beliefs, and beliefs in all aspects of nomadic, rural, and urban life. Some of these numbers have long-standing links to our beliefs and their etymology makes us aware of the reasons for their popularity. These are sometimes religious and sometimes mythical reasons. In this article, we try to study the role of numbers in rituals, customs and traditions that were or are performed in the culture of the Iranian people, and especially in the transitional rituals in the three stages of birth, marriage and death. Explain the importance and reason for their continuity throughout history as much as possible. This research has been done by descriptive-analytical method and the results of this research indicate that the mythical sanctity and repetition of a number have affected its importance and presence in popular culture. And the numbers of the Iranian tribes were not just for counting but were closely related to their symbols and beliefs.
