The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between drug addiction and personality traits and marital satisfaction in married addicted men. The statistical population of the study includes all married addicted men in Tabriz in 1997 and their number is 15,000. The statistical sample size was selected according to Morgan table and available to 375 people. The present study was a descriptive-correlational research. Which was done in a predictive way. To collect data, a substance abuse orientation questionnaire, Eysenck personality test, and Enrich short form marital satisfaction questionnaire were used. Regarding the relationship between substance addiction tendency and personality traits, the results showed that there was a positive relationship between substance addiction tendency with the dimension of psychosis and extraversion and no significant relationship was found with the dimension of psychoticism. There was also a positive relationship between drug addiction and marital satisfaction. The present findings showed that high extraversion and psychosis and low marital satisfaction lead to addiction in individuals. Therefore, these factors should be considered in the process of treatment and prevention interventions.
