Effectiveness of Family-Centered Education Based on Islamic-Iranian Model on Adjustment of Excitement and Adaptability of Family in Wives of Addicted People
This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of family-based education based on the Islamic-Iranian model on emotion regulation and adaptation of addicts' spouses.
The present study is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test-post-test designs with a control group. The statistical population includes all women with addicted spouses referred to Imam Khomeini (RA) Ardakan Relief Committee. Samples of 30 people were selected by available sampling method and were divided into two experimental and control groups so that in each group there were 15 people. Each group was pretested, and then the experimental group received nine training sessions, while the control group was not given any intervention. This study used emotion regulation questionnaires (Gross and John, 2003) and correlation and adaptability assessment scales (Olson and Portner, 1987).
The results showed significant levels in the variables of pretest and post-test of assertiveness; family correlation is more than 0.05. As a result, it can be assumed that the distribution of variables is normal.
Family-oriented education based on the Islamic-Iranian model helps women to have less reactive behavior by modulating emotions, and in critical situations such as; Having an addicted spouse is more compatible.
