The Role of I.R. of Iran’s Media Diplomacy in Forming Endogenous Regionalism in West-Asia
West Asia region, which is of high importance for world powers, has been always witnessing religious, ethnic, and tribal tensions and also security problems. These obstacles, alongside with destructive interventions of foreign powers, specifically US and Israel’s presence in the region, has led to disintegration among the Region’s Islamic states, and based on inter-regional dynamics and by means of Ironophobia and rupture among Muslim nations, has hindered the formation of collective identity and an endogenous regionalism. The main question is, regarding the significance and the effectiveness of Media, how Islamic Republic of Iran can use Media diplomatic means in order to shape an endogenous regionalism. The hypothesis is that Iran, through using extraterritorial channels, considering the prerequisites of audience persuasion, introduces Israel as an external force in the Region and the Islamic states’ enemy, and put emphasis on religious commonalities to be able to pave the way for forming an endogenous regional security. Given the effectiveness of the Media on public opinion, collective Islamic identity can be achieved using a long-term plan. This research is done by descriptive approach, within regional Security Complex Theory and Hovland model of persuasion. Data is also collected using library sources.
