Investigating the role of logistics systems management in the Navy Iran (Ndaja) for the Development of Maritime Trade and the National Economy

Logistics management aims at designing, planning, policy making, revising and coordinating the performed procedures, issuing the orders, and supervising the logistics systems. Its quality has a direct impact on the main operations of an organization. The main purpose of this study is to determine the role of logistics management of Iran navy readiness in the development of maritime trade and national economy.

The statistical population of the present study is experts familiar with the subject of maritime logistics management in the Iran Navy. Based on purposive judgment sampling, 10 people were selected as the participants of the present study. The first stage of this study is analytical in which, by the use of a questionnaire, the most important factors of naval logistics management and its consequences were identified based on expert judgment. The second stage of this study is mapping in which interpretive structural modeling (ISM) method was used to map the model of naval logistics management factors and their consequences in Iran Navy.

The findings of the first questionnaire resulted in the identification of 9 factors. The results of the second questionnaire showed that all 9 factors are collectively agreed by experts. The results of the third questionnaire revealed that the factors were classified into 7 levels. Level 1: development of national economy and development of maritime trade; Level 2: Customer Satisfaction; Level 3: Transport Routing; Level 4: Agility and readiness; Level 5: Safety and well-being; Level 6: Inventory management systems, storage and distribution of ready-made items and ready-made ports and reservoirs of ports and beaches; Level 7: Information Management. Therefore, information management was the most important and effective factor under study. The development of the national economy and the development of maritime trade are also the most influential factors under study.

The results of this study indicated the positive impact of logistics management of logistics systems in Iran Navy on the development of maritime trade and the national economy.
