A comparative study of dual citizenship in the law of the Russian-Iranian Federation and the ways to obtain it

One of the most controversial issues in international law that arises in the relations of states with foreign nationals when filing international lawsuits is dual citizenship, which occurs for various legal, political and social reasons and causes problems in the relationship between government and states. Therefore, the present study, which seeks to "comparative study of dual citizenship in the law of the Russian Federation and Iran and ways to obtain it" after expanding the conceptual space of the research topic, examines dual citizenship and ways to obtain it. According to the thematic documents presented in this research, the research method is descriptive-analytical and the method of data collection in this article is library. The findings of this study indicate that: "In the Russian legal system, dual citizenship is recognized as an inevitable consequence of Russia's succession after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and is legitimized through the signing of international treaties and the law of the Russian Federation. Has identified various ways to obtain it, "While Iran does not accept dual citizenship, it faces a large number of dual nationalities and does not have a proper legal solution to this issue."
