The position of zari weaving of women's clothing of Hormozgan province
The role of studying clothes and embroidery decorations on them is not only important from the point of view of history and art, but also from the point of view of sociology and semiotics.the embroidery of the traditional clothes of Hormozgan women has a special place in the traditional arts of Iran. In this article, an attempt has been made to identify and introduce the motifs of zari weaving in the traditional clothing of Hormozgan women in order to determine its place in the traditional clothing of this region. The present article has been done in a descriptive-analytical way and gathering information in the way of library study and field observations. This article seeks to answer the question of what plant and geometric motifs are used in Hormozgan zari weaving and what is the position of this art in the traditional clothing of Hormozgan? The obtained results show that the artists of this region are committed to creating zari weaving motifs based on native and local paintings and influenced by factors such as nature. These motifs can be placed in two groups of broken designs (geometric) and revolving designs (flowers), which are used for women's traditional clothes, which include tunics, headdresses, and veils.
