Desired Religious Media from the Perspective of Comparative Jurisprudence

The study of performance of the media, which is now known as religious, has shown a kind of dispersion and chaos in the way of presenting Islamic knowledge, and observing the results of the measures taken to improve the current situation, indicates that virtually none of these measures in providing a single and index definition of the desired religious media, accurate knowledge of its nature and finally issuing appropriate practical jurisprudential rulings and compiling media jurisprudence accordingly, has not been effective; and at best, these measures have only led to the need to accept and follow a single fatwa in various areas of contemporary jurisprudence, including media issues. The main reason for such problems is the confusion in understanding the nature and meaning of the media and not paying attention to the relationship between the two important words “a‘lam” and “da‘wah”. The purpose of the present descriptive-analytical research was to find appropriate answers to the questions “What is the desirability index of religious media?” and “How is it achieved?”, “What has been the achievement of the jurists of Islamic denominations on this issue?” and “Is there a practical achievement or not?”. This study obtained the following answers to the above questions: 1. Explaining the relationship between the two words “a‘lam” and “da‘wah” and the types of views related to it is necessary to understand the nature of religious media and then express its desirability. 2. The theories issued in the field of religious media by scholars and jurists are based on one of these existing views. 3. It is necessary to extract a clear and uniform definition from the religious media before issuing jurisprudential rulings and fatwas.
