The role of police awareness through new media in attracting social participation and ensuring the safety of Tabriz citizens

The purpose of the current research is to "investigate the role of police awareness through new media and attract social participation in ensuring the safety of the citizens of Tabriz". The existing research is an applied study in terms of its purpose and a survey-field survey in terms of data collection. The statistical population of the current research includes Tabriz citizens over 15 years old, which is a total of 1,593,373 people. The sample size was 720 people based on Cochran's formula and the selection was done by multi-stage cluster sampling method. The method of data analysis is structural equation modeling and path coefficient significance test, determination coefficient test, effect size test, model quality test and Sobel test to check the significance of the effect of mediating variables using Amos software. The results show that the direct effect of the awareness variable of social networks on improving the level of public participation (P < 0.05, Z = 6.878, Z = 0.42) is positive and significant. The direct effect of social media awareness variable on improving police performance in providing social security (P < 0.05, Z = 4.913, Z = 0.25) is positive and significant. Also, the direct effect of the variable of improving the level of public participation on the improvement of police performance in providing social security (P < 0.05, Z = 10.842, Z = 0.74) is positive and significant.
