The Role of Family Reunion in Maintaining Social Bonds and the Consequences of Its Termination based on Nahj Al-Balaghah: A Comparative Approach with Today's Societies

One of the important and key elements of a healthy lifestyle is having a healthy and effective relationship with relatives, which is interpreted as family reunion; this is a good tradition that, despite being emphasized in various sources, has been neglected, especially in today's societies. This research tries to answer the following questions by referring to Nahj al-Balaghah. Where is the place of family reunion in the system of social relations? What are its individual and social consequences in terms of reducing social harms? What are the consequences of its termination? The importance of family reunion and strengthening kinship relations in maintaining social unity and community health clarifies the necessity of the present research. The method used in this study is textual content analysis, and the findings demonstrate the extraordinary importance of family reunion, particularly for parents in Nahj al-Balaghah, by providing standards for kinship relationships such as love and forgiveness and assisting in the strengthening of kinship relationships. As a result, it strengthens the pillars of society and alleviates poverty, and in the case of termination, social values will disappear.
