Management Methods of International Sports Events (The Case Study of Olympic Games)

The purpose of the present study is to review management methods of international sports events. The methodological approach of the research is qualitative and it aims to answer the following research question: Which of the trade models in project management is suitable for such a great and breathtaking event like the Olympic Games? With respect to the conducted studies in the Olympics, project managers face different challenges so the adopted models can integrate different and scattered means of project management. The results showed that complete models of project management benefit management approaches and reinforce the definition and application of strategic programs enhancing techniques in project management control. It is also needed to coordinate a sustainable model in the context of Olympic Games until the successful end of a project.
