An Analysis of the Differentiation of Opinions on the Comprehensiveness of the Qur’an (with Emphasis on the Interpretive Viewpoint of Abolfotuh Razi)
In the view of Quranic scholars and commentators, comprehensiveness is one of the most important principles of Quranic interpretation and each commentator has a different position on this issue. In total, three general views, minimum, moderate and maximum, have been presented for comprehensiveness, and the arguments of each group need to be carefully examined. Abolfotuh Razi, the commentator of Rawd al-Jannan, is one of the commentators who has expressed thoughtful opinions in the following verses related to comprehensiveness. Accordingly, his view of the scope in question is the acceptance of a minimalist view, that is, merely the guiding aspect of the Qur’an. Among the explanatory arguments regarding his opinion and outlook about the minimum comprehensiveness that express his vision and thinking in this field, is the adherence of comprehensiveness verses to being guided and also the attribution of maximum comprehensiveness to the protected tablet, which focuses on the interpretation of “book” to “protected tablet” is considered in these verses. Examining the above opinions in a descriptive-analytical way confirms that factors such as not criteria for all narrations under the verses of comprehensiveness and also disregard for principles such as non-restriction and emergence (non-interpretation “and ... leading to the presentation of the above opinions It has been minimized by this commentator and other supporters of the comprehensive view.
