An overview of sports and sports ethics from the perspective of the Qur'an and some hadiths

Sports has taken up a significant part of the daily plans and activities of people, especially the new generation, and everyone, in turn, has duties to maintain their physical and mental health. With the boom of professional sports, sports ethics has gained special importance and necessity in international arenas. This article seeks to determine the main motivation of sports by providing a definition of it and stating some verses of the Qur'an and traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and also outline the benefits and conditions of an athlete's success and moral principles. Finally, the characteristics of sports and provide ideal sportsmanship.
