The Position of the Photographer’s Thought in the Art Photography based on the Theory of the Author’s Death; Looking at the Works of Lara Zankoul

Today, finding new ways to photograph is one of the concerns of artists in this field. The modern way of fine art photography cannot be introduced as a branch of photography or an invented style, but in fact, it is an example of a special look and mentality of the photographer towards different subjects, which is depicted in a conceptual way. Professional art photographers choose subjects for their photos so that the mental ideas and concepts of the photo aren’t quickly understood. In this way, while appreciating the visual beauty, the viewer can think about the goal of the photograph. In this research, I examine the role of photographic thought in art photography. For this purpose, by looking at Roland Barthes’s theory of the author’s death and his theory that every author dies after writing his text and what remains of his writing is the interpretation and impression that the reader makes of his text, to examine the issue that the author’s death theory in What is the position of fine art photography? For a case study, the work of Lara Zankoul, a Lebanese photographer, is considered in terms of the proximity of her thoughts in her work. Finally, I try to look at Lara Zankoul’s works with the theory of the author’s death, in addition to examining the thought in the art photography.
